Choosing the right spider table base depends on the tabletop’s size, weight, material, and intended use. A base that works well for a standard dining table may not provide enough support for a large live-edge slab, stone top, glass top, or conference table. The goal is to select a base that provides balanced support, adequate legroom, and long-term stability without overpowering the design of the tabletop.

Solid wood and live-edge tabletops are popular because of their natural grain, thickness, and unique character. However, large wood slabs can also be extremely heavy and may expand or contract slightly as humidity changes
Recommended Tabletop Considerations
The NeoSilvan spider table base measures 53 inches long × 26 inches wide × 28 inches high. It is designed for large dining, conference, live-edge, stone, and glass tabletops.
Before installation, confirm:

- Tabletop length and width: Best suited for large rectangular tabletops, typically around 5 to 12 feet long, depending on material, thickness, and weight.
- Tabletop thickness and weight: Make sure the tabletop is structurally strong enough for the mounting method and does not exceed the recommended load.
- Mounting plate position: Center the 53-inch base under the tabletop so the mounting plates distribute weight evenly.
- Seating and legroom: The 26-inch-wide spider footprint helps preserve open seating space around the table.
- Finished table height: With a 28-inch-high base, the final table height will depend on the tabletop thickness. A 1.5- to 2-inch top creates an overall height of approximately 29.5 to 30 inches.
- Residential or commercial use: Suitable for dining rooms, offices, conference rooms, restaurants, and custom furniture projects
A wider base footprint generally provides better stability for long or heavy slabs. For especially large live-edge or conference tables, the tabletop should be inspected for cracks, weak areas, or uneven surfaces before installation.

Connect the “C” mounting plate to the spider legs using the S1 screws.Step 4
Pre-drill holes in the underside of the wooden tabletop using a 7/16-inch (11 mm) drill bit. Then install the S3 threaded inserts into the pre-drilled holes.Step 5
Position the tabletop over the spider base. Secure the tabletop to the base using the S3 screws and the included hex wrench.Important:
Measure and mark all mounting points before drilling. Make sure the base is centered and all mounting plates sit flat against the underside of the tabletop.
